Babylon

This picture was not doctored in Photoshop, I swear! The Rites of Spring Oh Yeah
Friday afternoon, SZQ and Red pack up Bert and head Northward. Only one wrong turn was made during the whole 4 hour trip to our destination at beautiful Point Arena. We got there just after dark and waded through poinson oak bushes trying to find a place to make camp. That night it was about 40 degrees, it rained, and the tent that Red bought for $2 at a thriftstore in Redwood City totally flooded. Red's laptop woke up in a puddle and made sizzling sounds when it tried to boot up. Thanks to a gentleman named Jake, who housed SZQ in his tent, and Red in his car, ETLD survived the night. Unfortuantely, the Burrito didn't make it to this gig at all so ELTD picked another random drummer from the audience to fill out the trio. The drummer de jour was a fellow named Jeff who (as we found out later) was completely fried on mushrooms during our entire set. Needless to say, this made for an interesting show. Ah, Spring. Indeed it was a bit chilly out when we took the stage and it made for a fun challenge to have fingers freeze as we played our songs, but the crowd was so enthusiastic and the sun was shining so brightly that nothing could go wrong. The gig was a wild success.
