I was out walking in the woods on Tuesday night
Inncoently strolling by the trees.
I wasn't looking for adventure or even caring where I stepped
Then I saw something that made me freeze.

The thing just hopped in front of me and gave me quite a fright
An unexpected barrell of fun on a regual Tuesday night
It was a toad, a toad, a toad with warts all over
So I blocked him off and I picked him and up and decided to call him Clover

Well Clover was an ugly thing, but in a cute boy toad way
Even though he had a nasty smell
But I gave him a kiss anyway, hopeing that he would be
A prince locked under a witch's magic spell
But then the toad just croaked and squirmed as if he were in pain
And I said outloud to myself, "Oh, I must be insane!"

I would ride on unicorns or live inside a whale


I'd have a great big castle and rule a huge kingdom
Hold royal balls with lots of food and all my friends would come

Then Clover turned his head at me and then he gave a little snort

No girl toad wants to look at me, they say I'm ugly, fat and short
Believe me, I know fairy tales aren't real
But you're not insane for believing in them, I do it all the time
Every day I wish I could be a prince at the drop of a dime!

I guess that that is just the way it goes
