The Street

When I look down the street today
Everyone looks the same
Walking in the painted lines
Playing someone else's game.

Some people say that different
Is shameful, wrong or dumb
Differences get me excited
I think different's much more fun.

Different is walking down the street
With a plunger on your head
Cleaning out the monsters, and
Sleeping underneath your bed.

Chorus:

It's more fun to be different than everyone else
When everyone else is still the same,
You're making the rules to your own game.

You don't need to be like others
To make yourself secure
Boxes don't hold all the answers
Look in yourself to find the cure.

You could find
Something different than anything else you see
So spread your wings and toot your horn
Celebrate diversity.

Chorus

When I walk down the street today
I am going to dance
Wearing bells and streamers
With my underwear outside my pants.

Chorus
